Ingredients
For the Red Velvet Cake:
2 ½ cups (310 g) all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 ½ cups (360 ml) vegetable oil
1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp red food coloring
1 tsp white vinegar
For the Cheesecake Filling:
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
1 ½ cups (180 g) powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Garnish:
Red velvet crumbs
Drizzle of cherry or raspberry sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
2. Make the Red Velvet Cake Batter:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-12 cup Bundt pan.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, red food coloring, and vinegar.
Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until fully combined.
